BOLTS-BRASHEARS WINS PGF SUPER SELECT 12U CHAMPIONSHIP
Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier 2028-Brashears outlasted 56 teams from 20-plus states, beating Texas Bombers 2K10-Zuniga, 7-0, in the finals to claim the PGF Super Select 12U Championship on Sunday, June 4, at Ridley Sports Complex in Columbia, TN.
While all the Birmingham Thunderbolt pitchers performed at a high level, the contribution of a perfect game in the championship game by 2028 P Kenzie Jackson and 2028 P Elyn Simpkins capped the weekend in Tennessee.
The Thunderbolts, who outscored their opponents, 49-10, were led offensively by 2028 SS Macie Brashears (.692 AVG, 9 RBIs) and 2028 OF Briley “BooBoo” Bright (.500 AVG) over the nine-game stretch.
Bolts-Brashears defeated Arkansas Flex 2010, 2-0, Beverly Bandits Premier 2010-Binkley/Glass, 4-0, Beverly Bandits Premier 2010-Mrozek, 6-5, Tulsa Shootout 2010, 3-0, Corona Angels 2010, 6-1, Texas Bombers 2K19-Zuniga, 8-2, and Texas Bombers 2K10-Zuniga, 7-0, in bracket play.
