The Top Club Nationals were held Wednesday-Saturday, June 21-24, in Norman, OK. Here are some of Saturday’s highlights:
OC BATBUSTERS-STITH RETAIN 18U TITLE
OC Batbusters-Stith went undefeated in nine games, beating Strykers National-Esparza, 9-1, in the 18U final of the Top Club Nationals on Saturday at Marita Hynes Field in Norman, OK.
It was the second consecutive Top Club Nationals title for Batbusters-Stith.
Arizona-bound LHP Ryan Maddox pitched a shutout to beat Nebraska Gold National in the semifinals and she pitched five innings of relief in the finals to get the 9-1 victory over Strykers National-Esparza.
2026 C Tessa Cowsill hit a three-run homer and Stanford-bound 3B Jade Berry hit a three-run triple in the championship game for Batbusters-Stith.
Batbusters-Stith defeated Hotshots National-Anderson, 6-0, Texas Glory-Naudin, 10-0, and Oklahoma Athletics National, 2-0, in pool play, then beat Jersey Intensity, 5-0, Oklahoma Pure Fastpitch-McCutcheon A/M, 14-0, Texas Sudden Impact Gold, 5-0, Select Fastpitch-Alvarado, 6-1, Nebraska Gold National, 8-0, and Strykers National-Esparza, 9-1, in bracket games.
“(Arizona-bound 1B/OF) Regan Shockey was just a catalyst for the whole tournament,” Batbusters coach Mike Stith said. “(Florida-committed 2024 CF) Taylor Shumaker hit really well. She had some big hits and a couple home runs. (2025 RF/CF) Kai Minior is a superstar in the making.
“(BYU-committed 2024 LHP) Jada Villegas was real impressive. She had two shutouts. (Uncommitted 2024 RHP) Janae Berry pitched a shutout also. She did a really good job.”
ATHLETICS NATIONAL-MADDEN/KNIGHT CLAIMS 16U TITLE
OK Athletics 2025 National-Madden/Knight took down Texas Glory Naudin South, 3-0, in the 16U championship game at Top Club Nationals on Saturday at Marita Hynes Field in Norman, OK.
OC BATBUSTERS-K. STITH WINS 14U CROWN
OC Batbusters-J. Stith avenged its lone loss of the tournament, beating Georgia Impact 08-Taylor, 1-0, in the 14U championship game of Top Club Nationals on Saturday at Oklahoma Christian.
2027 SS Angelina Jimenez hit a solo homer in the 5th, 2026 CF Kale’a Tindal went 3 for 4 and 2027 RHP Abby Ford pitched all 7 innings, striking out 10 and allowing only 5 hits for Batbusters-K. Stith in the final against Georgia Impact 08-Taylor.
Batbusters-K. Stith defeated Louisiana Bombers-Albert/Fruge, 15-0, Tulsa Elite 08-Jaramillo, 12-3, and Select Fastpitch-Backsmeyer, 9-0, in pool play, then beat Texas Glory Naudin 08, 12-0, Epic National 2026, 6-2, lost to Georgia Impact 08-Taylor 2-1, and beat Epic National 2026, 5-0, Louisiana Bombers-Albert/Fruge, 8-3, Oklahoma Athletics National-Madden/Davis, 4-3, and Georgia Impact 08-Taylor, 1-0, in bracket games.
2027 2B/P Reese Hilliard (.542 AVG, 13 hits, 2 doubles, 1 HR, 8 RBIs), 2027 C/3B Riley Hilliard (.485 AVG, 16 hits, 8 doubles, 10 RBIs) and 2027 LF Mattea Stern (.452 AVG, 14 hits, 1 double, 2 triples, 1 HR, 9 RBIs) were the offensive leaders for Batbusters-K. Stith for the tournament.
Ford (29.1 IP, 6 wins, 44 Ks, 1.19 ERA) and 2026 P Liliana Escobar (15.2 IP, 2 wins, 3 BBs, 23 Ks, 1.34 ERA) were the standouts for Batbusters-K. Stith in the circle.
“(It was a) good week of competition,” Batbusters coach Katie Stith said. “Saturday’s Elite 8 games were all a battle and great for this group as they get into the biggest tournament of the summer. Georgia Impact is a very talented team. They beat us on Friday, 2-1, then the girls responded with a win in the final game. We were challenged this week and we got better.”
