It is now July, which means we are already halfway through the summer. Therefore, it is important to make sure that our bodies are recovered. After all the games, practices and workouts we put our bodies through, it is necessary to make sure we do some type of recovery in order to continue playing at 100 percent without injury.

Many athletes don’t like the term “recovery day;” however, recovery allows us to replenish our energy in order to play at a high level. There are a lot of recovery techniques out there, but the simple act of stretching allows our bodies to recover.

However, in order to get deep into our muscle tissues, there are other recovery techniques to help our bodies to recover even more. For example, one of my recovery techniques that I enjoy is Cryotherapy. Cryotherapy uses really cold temperatures to help the muscles recover faster.

Recovery helps create balance, so our bodies can perform consistently with a lot of energy. Therefore, having a balance between recovery and training will allow our bodies to perform consistently even more. So, as we go through this next half of our summer seasons, take time to implement recovery time into your schedule.
