2025 IF Lexi McDaniel, who is considered one of the top 2025 recruits in the nation, committed to Oklahoma, she announced on Twitter on Wednesday.
McDaniel batted .491 with 24 homers and 97 RBIs this summer, leading Aces Fastpitch Club to a runner-up finish at the 18U Alliance Nationals. She is a junior at St. Joseph Christian High in MO.
“I chose Oklahoma because it is the perfect fit for me,” McDaniel said. “Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of playing at the highest level. Oklahoma was the first place I went to camp. I fell in love with it then and every time I went back. Oklahoma to me, was different and set apart. The culture is everything. The OU coaching staff is filled with some of the best people you will ever meet, the fan support is unreal and the players you’re surrounded with are incredible, like-minded people.
“The championship mindset is so true for OU, and the competitive, yet, encouraging atmosphere, is like no other. Oklahoma’s ability to repetitively compete for a national championship while also growing young women in their faith is so special. I found my home in Norman, Oklahoma and I cannot wait to be a Sooner. Boomer!”
McDaniel was Oklahoma coach Patty Gasso’s fourth highly-touted commitment in the Class of 2025 since Sept. 1, joining 2025 RHP/1B Sophia Bordi, 2025 C/3B/1B Kendall Wells and 2025 RHP/MIF Allyssa Parker at Oklahoma, the three-time defending WCWS national champion.
“Lexi is one of the hardest workers I know,” Aces coach Ryan Taylor said. “She constantly shows up and just works. Her commitment to greatness will fit in well at Oklahoma.”
