2025 CF Kai Minor, a back-to-back 18U Alliance national champion for OC Batbusters-Stith, committed to Oklahoma, the lefty slapper with power announced on Twitter on Friday.
“It feels great to be going into a program that is bigger than softball,” Minor said. “It is a family and we all are in each other’s corner always.”
Minor batted .423 (33 of 78) with 20 runs and 13 RBIs and the speedster stole 24 of 25 bases and was named the Trinity League’s Player of the Year for Orange Lutheran High (CA) as a sophomore. She played in the Alliance Futures All-Star game this summer.
Minor is the fifth highly-touted 2025 prospect to commit to Oklahoma since Sept. 1, joining 2025 RHP/1B Sophia Bordi, 2025 C/3B/1B Kendall Wells, 2025 RHP/MIF Allyssa Parker and 2025 IF Lexi McDaniel at Oklahoma, the three-time defending WCWS national champion.
“Kai is joining a long line of great athletes that want to learn more and grow to get better,” Batbusters coach Mike Stith said. “She is becoming a very sharp student of her craft and right now everyone is trying to catch Oklahoma, yet, they still continue to attract those dynamic athletes that want so much more from softball. Our sport is changing in a good way. Technology, expanded coverage, conferences expanding lends itself to those that want to take this to a whole different level. At any sport, there are paths less traveled by great players and Kai has chosen that path. Still lots of work to do, but she is quite motivated to be great.”
