Outlook: Nebraska Gold won a PGF 18U Premier national title in 2021 and they finished tied for 5th place at the PGF 18U Premier Nationals last summer. They have earned a PGF 18U Premier Nationals berth for this summer. “Replacing some big bats and finding an offensive identity will be key this year,” Nebraska Gold coach Beth Singleton said. The four-player pitching staff has great variety and depth. “Maddia Groff is the veteran of the staff and generates a lot of swings and misses with good movement up in the zone,” Singleton said. “Macy Richardson, Tatum Montelongo and Danika Nell all have the ability to take over games.” The offense will be a blend of power and speed with many consistent gap hitters, who can keep pressure on defenses. Defense should be the strength of the team with strong fielders and a deep pitching staff.
